Effects of 7, 12-dimethylbenz(a)anthracene and estrogen on the transplantation and growth of a rat pituitary tumor.

چکیده

7,12-DimethyIbenz(a)anthracene, a carcinogenic polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon compound, significantly en hanced the transplantability and stimulated the growth of a pituitary tumor in rats. Estrogen was less effective than 7,12-dimethylbenz(a)anthracne. The combination of 7,12dimethylbenz(a)anthracene and estrogen showed a synergistic effect. Hormone production by the tumor was not impaired by these treatments.
